the seeding and the growth...

One of the things which make our life happy, beautiful and also tactful is children. We make them, build them and with them we make ourselves very tough and skillful. It is a very difficult job to handle and develop them. They grow and develop according to the parenting they get, their surroundings and their own experiences. Understanding them and thinking from their point of view is really necessary. We think children don’t have an opinion of their own. But they can have. They should be made used to take decisions and form opinions. They know what they like and what they need, but just that sometimes they cannot decide what to opt for. Everything we teach them gets fixed in their mind so well that even after a long span of time since the teaching or any particular incident or something takes place, they remember that situation or taught stuff thoroughly. Like we learnt alphabets when we were kids and we remember it better than any other thing in life. Even if someone wakes us up from a deep sleep n asks we can still answer. Likewise any good or bad incident taking place in our life has the respective impact on our lives. We think in the same way which we are used to, unless we plan to change patterns.

People, parents, friends, teachers, neighbors play a great role in forming a child’s life. Between them, parents and teachers are the ones whom they actually rely on and try to imitate as they are the ones with whom they spend major part of their lives.

Many things help to make a child’s mind healthy. A dialogue between parents and a child is very important. They should be asked for opinions. They know what to do if we leave it up to them. This makes them decisive. Though small not necessary they should be treated small. They should be made a part of everything. This inculcates a sense of responsibility in them. They must learn something from everything. But they should also be provided with their own space and their privacy.

Maturing before age is not at all wrong. If a child wants something like a toy or something and also a book for his curriculum and you cannot afford both at the same time, no need to hide your status from him. He must know the truth. Its not that children don’t understand, it’s just that they don’t get a chance.

Being friendly with them is also important. It’s necessary to keep their eyes open to difficulties and opportunities. With your help they can also take the most important decisions of life, they just need a chance. “You are still small, you don’t understand, you have not seen the world”. Statements like these upset the children and make them feel inferior. If they are small let them be, if they do not understand make them understand, if they haven’t sent he world show them the world! Let them experience everything, be it anything. They should know that it’s their life and no-one has a right on it other than them, not even you! It’s they who have to make it or lose it. They shouldn’t come in any influence.

It’s necessary to trust your children and make them trust themselves. There is no place for emotional fools, making them practical is essential. Make them realize that they can count on you if they go wrong in life. Show them the right path. But with all this one thing is very very important and should be taken care of. Children are not your property! They are souls with their own opinions; their own bursting wills and wishes. They shouldn’t be treated as things or objects. They are like beautiful flowers blooming on green earth. Let them try themselves with the game of life and with this you can see an ever growing smile on their face which will make your chest swell with pride!

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…!
