Who Cares?

Every 15th august, there emerges an Indian in every Indian. But this happens only on every 15th august. Every other day is a selfish day. No one is bothered about anyone or anything. Controversies, corruption, tragedies, mishaps, scams, attacks, all these terms are not new to us Indians. And the most important thing is, we are used to it now and so we hardly even care. If anyone touches our skin it’s only then we think of all these things and blame our constitution and the people including the so-called government. How many of us can actually, proudly call ourselves patriotic? How many of us stand still with respect when we hear our national anthem playing? How many of us try to stop something wrong happening in front of our eyes and at least try to help out of humanity?

To change the whole country we need to start with ourselves. But no one is ready to take even the 1st step. They say changing one person will not change the corrupt country. In a way this is something we can’t deny. Whenever there seems to be a good person, who we feel is genuine enough to change the society, there either comes news saying he’s dead or he himself is caught in some scam or controversy (genuinely or otherwise no one cares). Hence there is an end of the chapter. In a democratic country there is value for people’s opinion but in a country like India, the only value is given to the one and only thing Money. We think there are oldies filled in the government and that is the reason we need some youth power. But frankly speaking the youth of this country is no different that the oldies.

There are so many causes whose advantage can be taken and diversity can be created. We say we have unity in diversity but it is nothing of that sort. There is only discrimination, increasing distance between rich and poor, Casteism and overflowing selfishness. The all new appeals which are made every day, the reasons for certain strikes and riots, facilities provided to the undeserving, can make anybody laugh. In this country importance is given not to the people who stay here but to the outsiders. No doubt companies like the East India Company ever got a chance to stay put in the country and ending up ruling the country.

Slapping the ministers is going to make no good. They are already shameless; things like these won’t make much difference. We give 51% share to the FDI whereas the farmers in our country are dying of starvation and suicide. We export the best quality food whereas we eat food which is equivalent to dog shit. We encourage foreign companies and on the other hand do not provide facilities to our own small scale or even large scale industries. There are more rules for setting a person free of a judicial charge than imprisoning and punishing him. The common man is baring price hikes and criminals like Kasab are enjoying Indian “Atithi Devo Bhava” slogan.

All of this is going on since a long time. Naming everything brings more shame for us in our own eyes. Making movies like Nayak, RDB, Lagaan, etc. is seldom going to make difference. We are not safe off each other, how are we going to fight against something external when we ourselves welcome them and ask them to take charge?

It won’t be long that another East India Company will emerge someday, rule us, loot us, and leave us to rot in the already rotting shit. Enough of thinking; it’s time we actually take some actions. Blaming has always been easy executing against the blame is something we should think about.

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf...!

The UnExpected...

Life always shows you different things at every phase. When you feel you have an eternity to think and do things your way, life laughs at you and says, FUCK YOU!

You can’t change the pattern, and surprisingly all bad things happen with good people. We never expect some things, but when they happen we feel the earth beneath us slipping and our mind blows off, which is why we call it a shock.

Even if we say we never know what might happen when, so we try to do everything we can, but that everything is never sufficient. It doesn’t make a difference if this happens with a closed person or an acquaintance, we have memories with everyone. Just that with closed ones the memories are more.

Death doesn’t have any criteria like age, qualification, deeds, or may be deeds are considered or maybe not. It just comes and takes away people and with them everything which is related to them. Only memories are left back.

I guess this is not something we can ever manage to handle nor can we do anything about it. Let us just accept it and move on.

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…!

One change: Some loss, Some gain...

In India, marriage is a very weird but a very common and must thing. We don’t leave our homes when we grow off age; we stay with our parents, our families. When we get married we have so many new relations, new surroundings to cope up with. Everything changes for both the girl and the guy. Most often there are arranged marriages here, but as time keeps changing so does the way of choosing a partner.

The girl is bestowed with so many new things that she has to carry with her utmost ability. She is now someone’s daughter in law, someone’s grand- daughter in law, an aunt, a sister is law, and most important someone’s wife. Well, the ‘Wife’ part comes a little late here. The reason is, when a guy chooses a girl, he sees that she should be well accepted by all of his family members. More than his wife, she is a daughter in law or a grand-daughter in law. So the major part is being accepted by his parents and grand-parents. She is the one who is supposed to take care of the whole family from now on. The same is with the girl. She chooses a guy whom all her family members accept and would love to see her with. Who they think would be able to take care of their girl and keep her happy all her life.
The guy’s life changes too. Though very little. He has never had much of responsibilities. Till now he just had to earn for his parents and live for himself. But now, he has a family, a family of his own. So now comes a time when his responsibilities increase. His way of living changes also changes. He has to adjust according to the new person in his life and home. The things which his mother used to do are now in his wife’s to-do list. He has a new face and environment to face when he gets back home from work. He has a new responsibility, his wife. He needs to keep her happy, support her and understand her. While doing this, he must also see that he isn’t hurting his parents and any of his own family people.
The girl has to undergo different way of living. Firstly, she has to live with an altogether different family, with their different way of living. She cannot live or be the way when in her parent’s home. She has to take care of many things. She has to be more composed responsible and understanding.
Things for a guy change less as compared to a girl because he doesn’t have to live with a different family nor does he have to leave his own. But in all this, this feeling of change is bliss. You start with difficulties but end up having a good future. If the girl’s in-laws are equally good they provide the girl a good support.

Everyone here goes through this marriage business. They love it, enjoy it, fear it, but have to go through it. This is not only about the marrying couple, but also about the people related to them. The mother has a weird understanding that her son or daughter has grown so much that he/she is supposed to get married. The others have the same feeling. The sister has played with her sister or brother in her childhood, has experienced so many changes together for all these years. But now the things will change. They are all happy with the new change. But there is also a loss of all those old days.

Things do change, you lose a bit, but still, you gain a lot more. There are many things to look forward to. Though looking back give u tears of happiness, you need to keep just one thing in mind. Cherish the old memories, and make way for the new ones coming your way.

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…

the girl thing...

Well m starting with something which is considered the toughest thing on earth, trying to decrypt a girl. Being a girl I myself have never really understood what a girl really wants! I doubt if they know what they actually want.
“The Fools” as they are called, they are the smartest! Sad that even they them self don’t realize this. A girl or a woman is the heart of everything. Without them nothing would take place. They are considered the most emotional of the species, the most sensitive and nostalgic ones. Well, the reason for all this is their inbuilt hormonal metabolism. They can’t help it either.
They have certain pattern in which they think and don’t know why every girl has the same set of rules for each and every thing. They confuse themselves with everything they do. They are highly expressive. They don’t need reasons to cry. They can start off at literally anything! PINK is their favorite color. They love chocolates, soft toys, and the word CUTE. Their smile can make you lose your senses!
Every girl dreams of her Prince Charming since birth! Most of the girls have an “ambition” in life to marry her prince charming. Whatever they do revolves and rotates around only one thing, love! I don’t really know how many of them understand what love is. They always want their guys talking about them and them only. If they say one good thing about any other girl may it even be her own best friend the fight starts! Comparison is a must in everything for these sweeties. They let themselves to be taken for granted by their men. They easily fall for words of care and concern. They open up to anyone who is ready to listen. But if anything goes wrong with the people whom they care for, say a best friend or a loved one then may god save the person who meant harm!
They have an irritating habit of biting the ears off with their continuous chatter. They just can’t keep shut. May it is a woman of any age, chatting has to be the favorite hobby!

Creativity is inbuilt too. They have a great sense of fashion and art. They know what looks good. Some don’t but they are quick learners in these fields. They have their own way of interpreting things. They know to search for signs for what they are looking forward to.
They have great managing skills too. They have time for everything including studying, playing with their dolls, dolling up themselves, and learning things from their mommies, to taking care of kitchen, managing their jobs and kids and husbands and everything. No doubt they are always confused!
One thing they don’t understand is how they put someone in soup by their own behavior. They are no way decisive! They always depend upon someone to take decisions for them. They just slog like donkeys and let the world do the thinking for them. No doubt they are used as show pieces in many places. Frankly speaking they know very well how to get work done but they don’t actually try things. Scared that they always are, always in a dilemma. But that doesn’t mean every girl is the same. Many girls now have understood their own power and have started using it. They know that they can live independently and don’t need to live like parasites and let themselves be ruled!
Sex is something they barely think of. They take 3 weeks to know if the guy they are with is good for them. (For a better reference please read “why men want sex and women need love by Barbara and Allan Pease”) I had read something which goes this way, “if you really want to spread news, tell it to a woman.”
They either have the tendency to give up anything and everything or grab everything them get or moreover don’t get. Today’s woman says they are no less than any man, which is because they are trying to free themselves from the way they are portrayed. They do fall on face sometimes but most of the times they stand firm and raise high. They will never take offence.
If they be bold they can make a whole male group face down with shame. The only good thing I can say about a woman is that, never ever underestimate them. You never know what they are capable of. If it comes to dare, girls dare more than guys do! They have more inner strength. If they can keep a child within themselves for 9 months and still do work and carry on their routine, if they can carry a child on their back in a war, you never know what else they can do, nor do they know! ;)
Ohk now enough I guess. All this girl talk is making my head spin again. I guess I’ll end it here before I start getting confused!
“God made earth and then he rested. After a while god made man, and he rested again. Then finally god made woman. Since then, neither man nor God has ever been to rest!”
Cheers to you, cheers to life…!

a short story...

In the hectic schedule of our lives, we have no time for anything. Feelings, emotions, people, beloved ones, we can think of nothing at all. I had been to a friend’s place today and saw that she was a little disturbed. When pressed a little she told me a story.

There was a sparrow couple which used to visit her place every morning since past year. The female was a little dumb. She used to come in through the living room window and roam about in the room. But she never used to find the way out. When she couldn’t find the way out she used to get hyper and used to chirp badly. Then the male sparrow used to chirp to her and lead her to their way out. This used to happen every day. Sometimes they used to play their games, sometimes the female used to tease the male and irritate him with many of her things like, unnecessarily getting food for him when he wasn’t hungry, chirp continuously when he was uninterested, then he used to turn his back to her and sit and she used to wander around him trying to seek his attention. The male used to be so caring that he used to ask her to stay out of the window and ask her to get in only after he had checked that the other window, which was their way out, was open. Once they had brought along a few friends who helped them get the raw materials to build their house. Both the females were made to sit out on the hedge of the balcony till the men were at work. Once they finished they would fly together.

Today morning my friend got up with a sound of continuous, loud chirping. She got off from her bed and went out in the living room. She was stunned with what she saw. The female sparrow was lying on the couch. Dead! The male sparrow was chirping badly. He couldn’t find his female companion. As soon as he felt my friend near him he flew away. My friend didn’t know what to do. She started crying and was just thinking about the male’s safety and state of mind.

She called the sweeper and asked him to take the female sparrow away. Even the sweeper felt something cold down his spine when he saw her. Still he took her away. The whole day the male sparrow sat waiting on the grill of the window, chirping continuously, in the hope that at least once would his female reply to him and they would go back home happily and he would never let her go away from him even for a while. But that fool doesn’t know that his darling would never return back to him now. He was madly in love with her.

Only for sometime there was a crow sitting on the grill. That was the only time the male sparrow left his place from the grill. He came back again, after the crow went away, chirping. Even when I left he was there. I won’t wonder if he is still there or if he would be there for another couple of days or weeks, waiting for her to return to his arms.

We humans are so dumb and insensitive. Nature is the best teacher. It is a boon to our lives. The small things we observe around us make us learn so many things but we turn a blind eye towards them thinking that we are the know-it-alls

Just consider a human situation instead. If a girl would have left a guy, would the guy wait all this long and care so much for a girl? Would he bother to lead her through her bad if she was silly or dumb or not capable enough? Would he do everything or leave everything just to see her smile? Not only a guy, but would a girl do all this for her love?

We humans consider ourselves and rank ourselves at the top. But we really need to think if we are worth enough to be called humans or rather if we are even worth living.

May be some of you found this story an emotional dose or utter sense of stupidity, but just think once. About every other time you see a sunset, every other time you feel you should have had some to hug tight. you parents, their love. your loved one if you have any. This is for them, and last but not the least, it is for you.

When ever you get tired of your loved one's tantrums, wish to be separated or even if a thought crosses your mind saying why on earth are we even together, remember, there is still a male sparrow waiting in the rain for his dear female sparrow with a hope that she would come back, thirsty, hungry, dried tears and in her memories. May be he will live and move on, may be he will wait for her till his last breathe and die..

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf...

missing you and me…

I so miss the time when, even after being so busy and tired you always took out time for me everyday. We used to sit like for an hour or so together, chatting. Me telling you everything about my day and you telling me what better I could have done. You shared everything with me the way I shared with you. I sharing what new I learnt and you teaching me more new ones. You had time for taking my studies, had time to feed me food, telling me stories. When you were out of them I used to ask you to repeat my favorite one “Dhruva bal”. We used to sit in the veranda till dad came back home. You were so busy, so stressed still you were all smiles. You shouted, scolded but just in minutes all of it used to vanish and you used to caress me, kiss me and become my ma again. Sometimes you me and dad used to play antakshari on Sunday evenings. we both used to sing and dad used to play keyboard and tables (as drums and tabla). You used to encourage me to sing and dance and would love to see all that I did.

Its been so long that we have spent some quality time together. Either you are busy or I am in a rush. Now the time is so that we just talk business and household and nothing else. We share nothing. You listen to nothing as you are tired. We have food together just once in a day that too in front of that idiot box which I hate the most! Whenever I come to you, you have some or other work. Even if you are home you are still working. Either household or business. I seek time from your busy schedule and talk and share a little. But you are always in a hurry. I know nothing is in your hands and you cant spare yourself from work. And this is not something which is going to change. just a time of few years and even I will be busy with my career. We would still be fighting with time to catch up with each other.

I just want to tell you that I miss you Ma and I miss the times we have had together. the laughs, the cries the fun, everything! I am what I am all because of you. Love you always!

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…!

aathvani

aakanksha..!

the seeding and the growth...

One of the things which make our life happy, beautiful and also tactful is children. We make them, build them and with them we make ourselves very tough and skillful. It is a very difficult job to handle and develop them. They grow and develop according to the parenting they get, their surroundings and their own experiences. Understanding them and thinking from their point of view is really necessary. We think children don’t have an opinion of their own. But they can have. They should be made used to take decisions and form opinions. They know what they like and what they need, but just that sometimes they cannot decide what to opt for. Everything we teach them gets fixed in their mind so well that even after a long span of time since the teaching or any particular incident or something takes place, they remember that situation or taught stuff thoroughly. Like we learnt alphabets when we were kids and we remember it better than any other thing in life. Even if someone wakes us up from a deep sleep n asks we can still answer. Likewise any good or bad incident taking place in our life has the respective impact on our lives. We think in the same way which we are used to, unless we plan to change patterns.

People, parents, friends, teachers, neighbors play a great role in forming a child’s life. Between them, parents and teachers are the ones whom they actually rely on and try to imitate as they are the ones with whom they spend major part of their lives.

Many things help to make a child’s mind healthy. A dialogue between parents and a child is very important. They should be asked for opinions. They know what to do if we leave it up to them. This makes them decisive. Though small not necessary they should be treated small. They should be made a part of everything. This inculcates a sense of responsibility in them. They must learn something from everything. But they should also be provided with their own space and their privacy.

Maturing before age is not at all wrong. If a child wants something like a toy or something and also a book for his curriculum and you cannot afford both at the same time, no need to hide your status from him. He must know the truth. Its not that children don’t understand, it’s just that they don’t get a chance.

Being friendly with them is also important. It’s necessary to keep their eyes open to difficulties and opportunities. With your help they can also take the most important decisions of life, they just need a chance. “You are still small, you don’t understand, you have not seen the world”. Statements like these upset the children and make them feel inferior. If they are small let them be, if they do not understand make them understand, if they haven’t sent he world show them the world! Let them experience everything, be it anything. They should know that it’s their life and no-one has a right on it other than them, not even you! It’s they who have to make it or lose it. They shouldn’t come in any influence.

It’s necessary to trust your children and make them trust themselves. There is no place for emotional fools, making them practical is essential. Make them realize that they can count on you if they go wrong in life. Show them the right path. But with all this one thing is very very important and should be taken care of. Children are not your property! They are souls with their own opinions; their own bursting wills and wishes. They shouldn’t be treated as things or objects. They are like beautiful flowers blooming on green earth. Let them try themselves with the game of life and with this you can see an ever growing smile on their face which will make your chest swell with pride!

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…!

moving on...

Every person goes through same things in life in every phase. May it be a girl or a guy. The main test comes when the time comes to realise things and move on. We do blame others when we see them doing something wrong but we fail to see that we have done or are doing the same thing which they have or are. May be the mediums and situations are different but the questions and the answers to them never seem to change. If we see someone doing some mistake we have to learn through their mistakes too.
Everyone is an idiot at some point of life. But what's important is that it should remain till some point of life only. If we repeat one mistake more than once then its not called a mistake. Self realisation is really important in life. Without that we cannot move on.
Life gets you stuck at many places. But unbinding yourself is completely in ur hands. Things change after a while but they change according to the steps u take. Ur future depends upon the every step u take in ur present.
So think and step at all times!

Cheers to you..cheers to lyf..!

the guy thing...

Well, actually speaking, you can call this an observation rather than a perception. Though all the perceptions are based on our observations, I don’t want to make anything underlined.
So talking about guys, as in males in general, there are types of them. There are types of them in themselves too, types as in phases or parts. When we say every individual is different we mean their thoughts and mind sets differ but even with this they orbit around certain presets!

Ok. So, to start with, you love to take people for granted. Everything is cool until things go according to your wish and will, but as soon as the tables turn there is something inside you which starts hurting. Call it your ego or just let it be “something”. You always like things to go according to you. You call it a safe play. You stay in your own cocoon. Your paradise! When things change you get insecure. But even with all this you have something called as a Happy-go-lucky and out-going nature. You don’t have the habit of clinging on to things (except for your girlfriend’s or wife’s faults :P ). You take one thing at a time. For instance, if you are watching a match you can think of nothing else! :P Well jokes apart, while doing something in particular, you don’t even think about other things. But, you don’t talk what you think and don’t think what you talk. You never speak your heart. Sometimes pouring your heart out does help. And for god sake crying is NOT girly! Please get this fixed in your mind. It really needs guts to cry!
One thing I don’t understand about you is why on earth are you so very eager or desperate to find a partner? Either as a general non-bonded relation or a serious long-term relation, you always need that special someone. Not that you share everything with that person. Also, even if things are kept in front of you, you still don’t seem to see them! What’s with the pretending? Or are you really that dumb? Dating is your favorite hobby, sex on the top of your to-do list. You love to do everything which is wacky and adventurous. You are always ready to try new things though sometimes with a crooked nose but you do it, also sometimes because you have to save your image and pride. It’s very rare that you take things on yourself. You are a very lazy species.
Things which make you happy include the things you like to do the most. For instance playing sports or watching them, hanging out or drinking with your gang, cars or bikes or vehicles in all, electronics, technology, etc. you love your inside guy things and jokes. You have your own ways to look at things. You love competition. You don’t like people cribbing about things and hammering you with things every now and then.
People say it’s very difficult to understand a woman. I say it’s untrue. Understanding guys is the tougher one. It is tough because they don’t let you understand them. They don’t speak out.

I had once read something somewhere, it goes this way “If the world comprised of all men there would be world wars, and if the world comprised off all women, there would be countries just jealous and not talking to each other.”

PS – I know you have many objections and arguments on this but this is just in general I have pointed. Read my first statement again.

Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…!

keeping it open…

We join some class or some course to help us know things better, i.e. to learn something, to completely understand things by filling the blanks between the half knowledge that we already possess. For this we should have two things, one is to have the urge and eagerness to learn and second is to have an open mind set towards whatever is going to get into our heads. Most of us have a preoccupied mind which already has a little of the big mass which still has to get in and we think that this little is actually the whole mass. This leads to have a closed mind set. We need to make ourselves understand that there are things that we still don’t know. We can’t always think that we are the most knowledgeable and others contain none.

When someone younger or equal tries to tell us something related to something in which we consider ourselves ace, we don’t take that in because we have programmed our mind saying that we know things and someone younger to us cannot possess a better understanding of this ‘something’. The younger ones knowledge may be right and may also be more than ours, but we never pay a heed. Mind you, this is our loss and not anyone else’s and we need to understand this. We keep ourselves in dark by not trying to understand other’s things. In the effort of keeping our ego firm, we lose everything which would enhance our skills and knowledge or may be even our destinations or goals.

It is really important to keep a free mind so that we don’t end up losing something which would have been easy to achieve. there is no harm in knowing things even though we don’t use the gain ever in our lives, but lack of them can anytime create troubles. Be smart in choosing. Choice is yours!

Cheers to life, cheers to you…!

Monday 3 January 2011

perceptions...

When we set up our mind on something, we have experienced that something. But if we set it up without experiencing it, it’s useless to set your mind frame so. We listen to people, their experiences and then wonder what would we do if were in that situation and point out things to the person who has been through it. But dude that is just not enough. When we actually are in some situation there are many things going on in our mind at a time. So there are chances that many things can just slip through and we don’t even notice them. Listening to others experiences help us to know what we can do in such a situation but finally what we do is totally up to us.

If we set our mind without knowing about things there is a chance that we mess up in some situations. Just like if we go unprepared for an exam we are sure to fail. So instead of having some kind of perceptions in our mind about some things or people, we can just give a try at everything, understand everything and know it better. And then if we be through something we can to it confidently!

What I want to say is 1st impression is not always the last impression. People change, things change, situations change. Even the same situation may have a different phase and face. So it is necessary to look at everything afresh! Cheers to you, cheers to lyf…!
